Tony Entrekin
Position: 6th Grade ELA

I’ve been teaching for 25 years and have taught at Westbrook Christian School, BB Comer School in Sylacauga, Summit Academy of Mountainview Hospital, Duran Junior High in Pell City, Gadsden City Alternative School, Gadsden City High School, and now Gadsden Middle. Seeing Robin Williams in the movie Dead Poets Society is what motivated me to become a teacher. I also teach in the hopes that I can get students interested in reading. I’ve been involved with the Theater of Gadsden in several plays . The comedies have been my favorite, especially when I got to play an old vaudevillian in The Sunshine Boys and a deranged but loveable character who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt in Arsenic & Old Lace. I like classic and progressive rock, jazz, blues, classical and Celtic music. My wife, daughter, and I live in Gadsden with two dumb dogs and two cats (one sane, one not). I try to live by the Beatles saying “Give peace a chance.”
